ship in a bottle

The ship inside is a giant replica (37 sails and 80 cannons) of Horatio Nelson’s ship and created by artist Yinka Shonibare, on display in londons Trafalga square. The attention to detail is spectacular, even down to the sailcloths being created from traditional sail canvas before being hand printed and hand sewn. The bottle is 5 x 2.8 metres just large enough for studio workers to be able to climb in and out and work.

Cayman Island to get a new wreck dive

Look at this amazing ship. Its a 251 ft submarine rescue ship. It was destined for the scrap yard but the Cayman Island tourist authorities have decided to have it sunk to create an artificial reef. I love wreck diving as it creates unusual habitat for sea life and new areas for coral to grow. I also like the juxtaposition of the underwater world against something so industrial and man made, and the fascinating story behind them.

Out the Door

The interior design of Charles Phan slanted door off shoot is as stunning as the slanted door at the ferry building with its attention to detail even using local Marin 'Heath Ceramics' plate ware. The amazing back wall you can see here is actually different types of HONEY in box's. The walls are bamboo veener and there are amazing 'acid on iron' paintings on the walls, of which i'll try to put up a picture!

A few inspiring paper projects.
